Lumber Co. Seeks $2.6M From Insurer Over Fire

Law360, New York (April 5, 2011, 7:10 PM EDT) -- A lumber manufacturer hit First Specialty Insurance Corp. and others with a suit Monday in Georgia seeking $2.6 million in damages over a sawmill fire, claiming a subagent misrepresented the nature of its policy with the insurer.

FSIC and other entities tied to the casualty insurance policies committed fraudulent inducement, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive conduct under Georgia's Insurance Code, according to a complaint Sutton Lumber Co. Inc. filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
