A&P Sues Former VP To Stop Defection To Rival

Law360, New York (April 4, 2011, 8:10 PM EDT) -- The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. Inc. sued one of its former vice presidents on Monday in New York for allegedly violating a noncompete agreement and revealing details of bankrupt A&P's restructuring plan to rival Stop & Shop Supermarket Co.

A&P's ex-vice president of operations, Frank R. Vitale, knows trade secrets that could “cripple” A&P's restructuring plan if disclosed to Stop & Shop, his new company, A&P said in a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York....
