California AG Won't Drop Suit Against Auto Makers

Law360 (April 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- California’s attorney general has vowed to continue the state’s lawsuit against six of the largest U.S. and Japanese auto makers over greenhouse gas emissions.

"I want to sue the auto makers and get them to change their ways," said Attorney General Jerry Brown at the annual state Democratic party conference on Saturday, according to a Reuters report.

Brown said he wants to meet with industry leaders and urge them to comply with appropriate environmental standards.
