Sydow Drops Defense Of Stanford In SEC Suit

Law360, New York (April 6, 2011, 12:49 PM EDT) -- The Sydow Firm LLP on Monday withdrew as counsel for alleged fraudster Robert Allen Stanford, telling a Texas federal court that since Stanford lost directors and officers insurance coverage last fall, his defense has proven too costly to continue.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas approved the withdrawal and appointed The Cochell Law Firm as new lead counsel for Stanford in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's suit against him.
