Fla. Hospital Not Immune To FCA Suit, US Says

Law360 (April 6, 2011, 3:51 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government on Wednesday waded into a False Claims Act suit brought by a director of physician services against a Florida hospital system, arguing the defendant is not immune from the suit under the 11th Amendment.

Judge Gregory A. Presnell of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida granted the government's motion to file an amicus brief in the case. The government has yet to intervene in the suit, but said it has not ruled it out completely.
