EU Targets 2 More Nations Over Russian Air Deals

Law360, New York (April 6, 2011, 5:55 PM EDT) -- The European Union on Wednesday added Bulgaria and the Czech Republic to the list of countries whose bilateral air service agreements with Russia it is investigating over concerns that the deals may run afoul of antitrust rules.

The European Commission has already sent formal notice letters to 23 other EU nations citing similar worries that the agreements might hinder competition between European airlines and force some carriers to unfairly pay extra charges for flying over Siberia.
