GE Settles With Calif. Chopper Crash Survivor

Law360, New York (April 6, 2011, 5:02 PM EDT) -- A firefighter injured in a 2008 helicopter crash in California agreed Wednesday to resolve his claims in a multidistrict litigation accusing General Electric Co. of producing defective engines that caused the accident.

According to a motion in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, plaintiffs Richard Schroeder, who suffered severe injuries in the crash, and his wife, Leta Jean Schroeder, have settled the case with GE for an undisclosed amount.
