ITC Eyes Chemical Agent Imports From China, Taiwan

Law360 (April 7, 2011, 2:16 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Thursday it would investigate whether China and Taiwan have sold certain stilbenic optical brightening agents in the U.S. at less than fair value, granting a request from domestic producer Clariant Corp.

The ITC issued a notice in the Federal Register saying it has implemented the preliminary phase of an investigation to determine whether there is a “reasonable indication” that a U.S. industry is materially injured or threatened as a result of the Chinese and Taiwanese imports.
