Blinded Mexican Patients Can Bring US Suit: 9th Circ.

Law360, New York (April 7, 2011, 4:39 PM EDT) -- A group of Mexican eye surgery patients who were allegedly blinded by a defective Abbott Medical Optics Inc. product will have another chance to pursue their claims in the U.S., the Ninth Circuit ruled Thursday.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit allowed the patients to potentially reopen their case in the U.S., which was dismissed because a district judge thought Mexico would be a better forum.
