Calpine Debtor Files Adversary Case Against Utility

Law360 (May 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Columbia Energy LLC, one of the debtors in Calpine Corp.’s bankruptcy proceedings, filed an adversary case against South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. Monday, alleging the utility offset millions of dollars in credits owed Columbia towards prepetition claims against another debtor.

The adversary complaint, filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, is the latest development in an ongoing dispute between Columbia and SCE&G over more than $4.7 million in credits that are allegedly owed Columbia. The company claims SCE&G offset...
