Louisiana-Pacific Faces Defect Suit Over Home Siding

Law360, New York (April 12, 2011, 5:23 PM EDT) -- A Washington state housing developer on Monday accused building materials maker Louisiana-Pacific Corp. of selling vinyl siding that came with a 25-year warranty but warped and faded shortly after installation.

Polygon Northwest Co. LLC claimed in a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington that it installed Louisiana-Pacific’s allegedly defective vinyl siding in some 500 houses and that the products had experienced “uniform failure” in the past five years.
