Bingham Sues Dodgers Owner Over Malpractice Threat

Law360 (April 12, 2011, 7:22 PM EDT) -- Bingham McCutchen LLP launched a preemptive strike Monday against Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, claiming it did not commit malpractice regarding a marital agreement that could cost him control of the baseball team.

McCourt has "repeatedly threatened to sue" over the agreement and refused to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees because of the alleged malpractice, according to a complaint filed in the Superior Court of Massachusetts, Suffolk County. Bingham is seeking a court declaration that it fulfilled all of its professional obligations and caused McCourt no loss.
