Fired Gov't Workers Must Sue Under CSRA: 1st Circ.

Law360 (April 12, 2011, 9:56 PM EDT) -- The First Circuit ruled Friday that a putative class of employees fired from U.S. government jobs for not registering with the Selective Service System had to pursue claims through the statutory route provided by the Civil Service Reform Act, not federal court.

In an opinion, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit vacated a district court’s March 2010 ruling on the constitutional claims in the suit, saying that the district court did not have jurisdiction in the matter.
