Judge Unseals Names In Madoff Suits

Law360, New York (April 12, 2011, 10:54 PM EDT) -- A bankruptcy judge in New York ordered the unsealing of names Tuesday in several suits filed by the trustee liquidating Bernard L. Madoff’s investment company.

Judge Burton R. Lifland of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that the public’s right to know about the bankruptcy proceedings outweighed the defendants’ desire to not have their names associated with Madoff.
