Stanford Trustee's $545M Recovery Suit Survives

Law360, New York (April 13, 2011, 2:08 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Texas on Tuesday refused to dismiss a suit filed by the receiver for accused Ponzi schemer Robert Allen Stanford's estate seeking to recover at least $545 million that some 200 investors and ex-Stanford employees received from the alleged scam.

Judge David C. Godbey of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas ruled that because Ralph S. Janvey, the Stanford liquidating trustee, is pursuing fraudulent transfer and unjust enrichment claims against former Stanford employees rather than naming them as relief...
