Supreme Court Microsoft Case Could Reshape Invalidity

Law360, New York (April 14, 2011, 6:01 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments Monday in Microsoft Corp.'s appeal of a $290 million patent infringement judgment against it in a suit brought by i4i LP, a case that has the potential to fundamentally reshape the law on patent invalidity, attorneys say.

Intellectual property lawyers say they expect the justices to make some change to the evidentiary standard on patent invalidity, but it remains to be seen how far they will go.
