Bill To Bar Contracts For Tax Delinquents Moves Ahead

Law360 (April 13, 2011, 5:26 PM EDT) -- A U.S. House of Representatives committee approved legislation Wednesday that would prohibit federal contracts from being awarded to individuals and companies that have fallen substantially behind on U.S. tax payments.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform reported out by a voice vote H.R. 829, the Contracting and Tax Accountability Act of 2011, originally introduced Feb. 28 by Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah.
