Harlem Activist Calls Rajaratnam 'Very Generous'

Law360, New York (April 13, 2011, 7:37 PM EDT) -- The chief executive of a celebrated New York educational organization testified on behalf of accused insider trader Raj Rajaratnam on Wednesday, calling the Galleon Group LLC founder “a very generous person.”

Geoffrey Canada, president and CEO of Harlem Children's Zone Inc., took the stand in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York as a character witness for Rajaratnam, telling jurors he considered the hedge fund chief “a dear friend.”
