Calif. High Court Tosses Solar Project Challenge

Law360 (April 14, 2011, 5:52 PM EDT) -- California's high court on Wednesday refused a Sierra Club request that it overturn approval of a solar energy plant slated to be built on unused land in the Mojave Desert.

The California Supreme Court indicated that it would not take up the environmental group's petition to revoke the California Energy Commission's permit for the plant, a 663.5 megawatt facility known as the Calico Solar project.

The court did not outline its reasons for declining to hear the case, which the Sierra Club brought directly to it...
