Fleetilla Can’t Shake Acacia Unit’s GPS Patent Suit

Law360 (April 19, 2011, 3:08 PM EDT) -- A Georgia federal judge last week refused to dismiss or transfer Acacia Research Corp. unit Telematics Corp.’s suit accusing Fleetilla LLC of infringing six vehicle tracking patents.

Judge Steve C. Jones of the Northern District of Georgia on April 13 denied Fleetilla’s motion to dismiss Telematics’ claims against it or move them to the Eastern District of Michigan, where the company is based, finding that the Georgia court had personal jurisdiction over Fleetilla.
