Calif. Dam Proposal Nixed For Insufficient Analysis

Law360, New York (April 15, 2011, 4:55 PM EDT) -- A California state judge ruled on April 11 that a municipal utility district did not fully analyze the environmental impact of a proposal to build a large dam near Sacramento that would inundate two miles of a historic river.

Judge Timothy M. Frawley of the Superior Court of the State of California, County of Sacramento said the East Bay Municipal Utility District violated the California Environmental Quality Act by failing to consider alternatives to the plan in its environmental impact report.
