Ala. High Court Again Rejects Scrushy Appeal

Law360, New York (April 15, 2011, 3:01 PM EDT) -- The Alabama Supreme Court refused Friday to rehear an appeal it denied incarcerated HealthSouth Corp. founder Richard Scrushy in January over a $2.9 billion judgment against him in a shareholder derivative action.

The high court denied Scrushy's petition for a rehearing of the court's finding that Scrushy failed to demonstrate an error in any aspect of the trial court's judgment.

Scrushy argued that the high court misinterpreted lower court decisions and should reconsider its decision, according to the petition filed on Scrushy's behalf by Susan J....
