Judge Says ABN, Goldman Misled Investors

Law360, New York (May 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Dutch appeals court on Thursday found ABN Amro Holding NV and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. guilty of misleading investors when they acted as the underwriters for the initial public offering of Internet service provider World Online in 2000.

The Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeals ruled that the two financial giants had not ensured that the IPO prospectus was correct or complete, thereby misleading investors who bought the shares before April 3, 2000.
