Faulty Preventer Didn't Cause Deepwater Blast: Cameron

Law360, New York (April 18, 2011, 10:01 PM EDT) -- Cameron International Corp. on Friday told the Louisiana federal judge overseeing the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation that the failure of its blowout preventer was not to blame for the deadly explosion and fires aboard the rig.

The rig deck was already swamped with oil and an explosion under way before workers could activate the preventer during the April 20, 2010, disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, Cameron said in a filing with U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier.
