AUO, Execs Fail To Escape Price-Fixing Charges

Law360, New York (April 19, 2011, 5:40 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Monday refused to dismiss a price-fixing indictment against AU Optronics Corp. and several of its employees, ruling that enough of the plot allegedly occurred in the U.S. to fall under the country's antitrust laws.

U.S. District Judge Susan Illston nixed a motion from AU Optronics, its U.S. unit and five of its executives to drop the superseding indictment in the case despite the defendants' pleas that the charges were over a foreign cartel that did not meet the criteria for U.S....
