Whirlpool To ITC: Korean, Mexican Fridges Need Duties

Law360 (April 20, 2011, 6:07 PM EDT) -- Whirlpool Corp. tried to convince the U.S. International Trade Commission on Wednesday that new duties are needed to stop Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and LG Electronics Inc. from flooding the market with artificially low-priced refrigerator-freezers and destroying the domestic industry.

In March, Whirlpool filed anti-dumping and countervailing duty petitions against Samsung and LG with the ITC and U.S. Department of Commerce, accusing them of selling the products in the U.S. at below-market cost.
