HP V. Jones: Bad Blood Or Trade Secret Protection?

Law360, New York (May 4, 2011, 5:15 PM EDT) -- There are important differences between the two complaints filed by Hewlett-Packard Co. against departing high-level HP executives accepting positions at Oracle Corp. in recent months.

In the first, HP v. Hurd, filed in September 2010,[1] HP identified no hard evidence of actual disclosure of trade secrets by the former executive, and yet sought an injunction against Hurd’s very employment at Oracle in addition to traditional nondisclosure remedies.
