Green Groups Balk At Texas Enviro Regulation Bill

Law360 (April 21, 2011, 7:28 PM EDT) -- The Texas House of Representatives passed a controversial bill Tuesday that would extend the life of the state's environmental agency, but would also make it more burdensome for citizens to challenge environmental permits.

The proposed legislation would hand authority to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for 12 more years, but require citizens to prove that the draft environmental permits they contest would lead to pollution.
