Asurion Settles Call Center Wage Action

Law360, New York (April 21, 2011, 3:54 PM EDT) -- Nashville, Tenn.-based call center workers and their employer Asurion Inc. on Thursday settled a wage-and-hour class action over time spent starting up and shutting down workstations.

U.S. District Judge Aleta A. Trauger approved a confidential settlement between Asurion and the class, closing the Fair Labor Standards Act suit brought in May in Tennessee federal court by two customer service reps who field claims-related calls.
