US Airways Hits Sabre With Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (April 21, 2011, 6:09 PM EDT) -- US Airways Group Inc. said Thursday it had filed an antitrust lawsuit in New York federal court against Sabre Holdings Corp. in a bid to stop the ticket distribution services company’s allegedly anti-competitive and anti-consumer practices.

The air carrier claims Sabre, a distributor of airline fares and content to travel agents, has schemed to shut out competition, protect its monopoly pricing power and maintain what US Airways called a “technologically obsolete” business model.
