Policyholders Seek Class Cert. In State Farm Suit

Law360, New York (April 22, 2011, 8:04 PM EDT) -- Three State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. policyholders on Friday sought class certification in a West Virginia suit alleging the insurer failed to offer underinsured motorist coverage equal to its policies’ liability coverage limits.

The plaintiffs, who were injured or had relatives injured in auto accidents with underinsured drivers, claim that the insurance giant ran afoul of West Virginia law and insurance regulations by neglecting to offer its own underinsured coverage.
