DOL Rule Aims To Boost Veterans' Job Chances

Law360, New York (April 26, 2011, 1:21 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor unveiled a proposed rule Tuesday that would compel contractors and subcontractors to extend greater affirmative action benefits to veterans protected under federal law.

The DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs said the new rule would update affirmative action requirements for contractors and subcontractors in response to an increase in the number of veterans returning from tours of duty and facing obstacles to employment.
