Brazilian Steel Cos. Dodge Countervailing Duties

Law360, New York (April 26, 2011, 7:29 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce released the final results of an administrative review of countervailing duties on hot-rolled steel from Brazil on Monday, finding that two companies should not have to pay duties on products imported in 2008.

The final results calculated a de minimis net subsidy rate for Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA and Companhia Siderugica Paulista and therefore assessed a zero percent duty rate on the two Brazilian companies, according to a notice published in the Federal Register.
