Metro Med Workers Sentenced For $23M Medicare Fraud

Law360, New York (April 26, 2011, 4:19 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Monday sentenced three local medical professionals to more than four years in prison each for their admitted roles in a $23 million Medicare fraud and kickback scheme involving HIV infusion therapy.

Judge Joan A. Lenard sentenced physician assistant Jose Diaz to 54 months in prison, medical assistant and infusionist Lisandra Aguilera to 70 months, and medical assistant Estrella Rodriguez to 57 months, according to the U.S. Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services.
