Wachtell Reps CenturyLink In $2.5B Savvis Buy

Law360 (April 27, 2011, 1:42 PM EDT) -- Telecommunications company CenturyLink Inc. said Wednesday it had struck a deal to pick up cloud infrastructure provider Savvis Inc. for $2.5 billion in cash and stock.

The purchase marks an increased focus for the broadband and land line phone service company on providing managed hosting and cloud-based services, offerings that are becoming increasingly vital for CenturyLink's business customers, CenturyLink President and CEO Glen F. Post III said.
