Ill., Wash. AGs Oppose $10M Chunghwa Deal In CRT MDL

Law360 (April 28, 2011, 4:39 PM EDT) -- The attorneys general of Illinois and Washington sought Wednesday to intervene in a multidistrict litigation over alleged price-fixing of cathode ray tubes, arguing a proposed $10 million settlement with Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd. improperly releases the claims of the states' citizens.

Illinois’ Lisa Madigan and Washington’s Robert M. McKenna both said that under their state laws, they are the only ones authorized to pursue and recover indirect purchaser damages and restitution on behalf of state residents.
