Subcontractor Sues Portage Over DOE Nuclear Cleanup

Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 2:17 PM EDT) -- A subcontractor hired to help salvage a troubled nuclear cleanup effort in Kentucky sued Portage Inc. on Thursday, saying the prime contractor broke an agreement to hire 20 of its employees under a $191.6 million U.S. Department of Energy contract.

CAF & Associates LLC claims it was hired by Portage and Paducah Remediation Services LLC, a joint venture principally run by Portage, in 2009 to help environmental remediation of soil and groundwater near the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant.
