Amazon, IBM Settle Internet Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (May 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ending years of battling over Internet patents, Amazon.com Inc. and International Business Machines Corp. said on Tuesday that they would settle all intellectual property lawsuits between the two companies.

Under the new settlement, Amazon will pay IBM an undisclosed sum in return for a long-term patent cross-license agreement and an end to all ongoing litigation.
