DOC Slaps Dumping Duties On Chinese Carbon

Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 4:15 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Friday announced anti-dumping duties on numerous Chinese manufacturers of steam-activated carbon, which is used in drinking water and wastewater treatment systems.

In a Federal Register notice announcing the preliminary results of the third annual administrative review of duties on Chinese carbon, Commerce said it had calculated margins of 0.05 percent for 10 companies and 2.42 percent for five other companies. Two companies were assigned a de minimis rate and will not be required to pay duties.
