Texas Atty, Ex-State Lawmaker Admits To Bribing Judge

Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 4:23 PM EDT) -- A lawyer who served seven terms in the Texas Legislature pled guilty Friday to paying disgraced Judge Abel Corral Limas in exchange for favorable rulings, signing a confession that implicates a Texas law firm in the corruption scandal.

Jose “Jim” Solis, a 47-year-old personal injury lawyer who retired from the Texas House of Representatives in 2007, pled guilty to one count of aiding and abetting extortion.
