Joester Loses Trade Secrets Suit Over Licensing Deal

Law360 (April 29, 2011, 9:10 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in New York on Friday tossed The Joester Loria Group LLC's suit accusing its former licensing subagent The Licensing Co. Ltd. of using proprietary information to gain an edge in a bid for a Chrysler licensing contract.

Joester did not have access to the confidential quotes sent by companies bidding for the Chrysler contract and therefore could not assume that Licensing Co. used proprietary information to win the contract, according to U.S. District Judge Denise Cote's opinion granting the defendant's motion to dismiss....
