Takeda Sues Mylan Over Prevacid Patents

Law360, New York (May 3, 2011, 7:47 PM EDT) -- Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. sued generics maker Mylan Inc. on Monday in New Jersey, claiming that its planned version of acid reflux drug Prevacid infringes two Takeda patents.

Takeda claims Mylan is seeking U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for a planned version of Prevacid, known generically as lansoprazole, even though it knows the generic would infringe Takeda's patents.
