Calif. Appeals Court OKs Firing For Craigslist Sex Ad

Law360, New York (May 4, 2011, 1:48 PM EDT) -- A California appeals court overturned a decision in early April to reinstate a San Diego teacher who was fired after he solicited sex on Craigslist, finding the graphic content in his advertisement undermined the objectives of his employer.

The online posting interfered with teacher Frank Lampedusa's professional life and undermined his ability to serve as a role model for students, a three-judge panel of the Fourth Appellate District determined on April 4. The appeals court published the opinion on Tuesday.
