Louis Vuitton Settles Ad Suit With Honda Canada

Law360, New York (May 4, 2011, 2:56 PM EDT) -- A unit of the French luxury goods maker LVMH announced a settlement Wednesday with Honda Canada Inc. and the automaker’s advertising agency over the allegedly improper use of Louis Vuitton trademarks in an advertising campaign.

Details of the settlement were not disclosed Wednesday, although Louis Vuitton Malletier SA said it had received a payment from the ad agency Grip Ltd. The campaign conceived by Grip for Honda’s Crosstour vehicle featured luggage with designs alleged to be infringements of Louis Vuitton’s Toile Monogram marks and Damier marks....
