Report Blasting Goldman Referred To DOJ, SEC

Law360, New York (May 4, 2011, 12:49 PM EDT) -- Two U.S. senators have referred a report that found Goldman Sachs Group Inc. misled investors about mortgage-related investment products to federal law enforcement officials.

A spokeswoman for Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs' permanent subcommittee on investigations, confirmed Wednesday that the committee's April 13 report on the financial crisis, which singled out Goldman and Deutsche Bank AG, had been referred to the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
