Liberty Must Cover Architects In $30M Nursing Home Suit

Law360, New York (May 5, 2011, 7:27 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge on Tuesday ordered Liberty Insurance Underwriters Inc. to indemnify Perkins Eastman in an unresolved lawsuit claiming the architecture firm botched its work on a $30 million nursing home project.

Judge Bernard Fried ruled that Perkins Eastman properly notified Liberty prior to the expiration of its liability insurance policy that it expected to face multimillion-dollar claims from Payton Lane Nursing Home Inc. or another contractor for purported delays and design defects related to the project.
