Arctic Glacier Settles Canadian Class Actions Over Ice

Law360, New York (May 4, 2011, 10:10 PM EDT) -- Arctic Glacier Inc. said Wednesday that it would pay CA$2 million (US$2.08 million) to settle class actions in Ontario brought by direct purchasers accusing the ice manufacturer of conspiring to fix prices for packaged ice in the U.S. and Canada.

The deal, which still needs the approval of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, resolves Arctic Glacier's share of the direct purchaser actions filed in Canada alleging anti-competitive behavior between the Winnipeg, Manitoba-based company and Texas-based Reddy Ice Holdings Inc.
