GoDaddy Loses Bid To Nix Petronas Domain Name Fight

Law360, New York (May 5, 2011, 4:17 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge refused Thursday to dismiss Malaysian energy giant Petroliam Nasional Berhad's bid for damages in a cybersquatting case against GoDaddy.com Inc., saying she needed more information about domain name registration services.

U.S. District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton denied GoDaddy's motion to toss Petronas' amended complaint in the nearly two-year-old case, which claims that the Web hosting service illegally refused to stop redirecting two domain names invoking the Petronas trademark to pornographic websites.
