Rolls-Royce Off Hook For Fees In Ship Insurers' Row

Law360, New York (May 6, 2011, 2:01 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge refused Thursday to award attorneys' fees to a group of insurers that earlier won dismissal of Rolls-Royce PLC's suit seeking coverage in litigation over the allegedly defective Mermaid propulsion system for cruise ships.

In December, Judge Cecilia Altonaga tossed Rolls-Royce's lawsuit brought over hundreds of millions of dollars in claims, ruling that continuing the suit in Miami would be inconvenient and unnecessarily expensive, given that the same dispute was before an English court and most of the parties, witnesses, experts and relevant documents...
