Petro Star Wins Remand Of $50M Refinery Fire Suit

Law360, New York (May 6, 2011, 4:14 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge granted Petro Star Inc.'s request Wednesday to send its $50 million lawsuit over an allegedly defective valve that sparked an Alaska oil refinery fire back to Texas state court.

U.S. District Judge Keith P. Ellison found that the so-called forum defendant rule requires remand because one of the defendants in the suit, PCC Flow Technologies Holdings Inc., failed to prove it was not a Texas citizen.
